The default board has five reels and three rows with ten lines. Shadow Rows can expand it to four rows and fifteen lines or five rows and twenty lines. The larger board costs more, so it is not a free increase in chances.

A player selects the four-row board, so fifteen lines are active at the higher displayed stake. Three Books land and the feature chooses a mid-value symbol as Golden. On a later free spin, copies appear on reels one, two and four but not reel three.
Because the line is interrupted, the expansion does not complete that path. Extra rows create more positions and lines, but the example shows why they do not turn an incomplete sequence into a win.
